Are You Taking Advice From YourSELF? How To Access Your Intuition!

ChristineHasslerG’Day Daily Lovers. I’m downright giddy because I’m writing you from AUSTRALIA!!  I arrived here last week and on February 2nd I will be teaching a workshop in SYDNEY!!! And the one and only reason that this is all happening is because I listened to my intuition. Are you listening to yours? Are you aware that you just did by clicking on this blog? I’ll share the magical story of how my intuition guided me down under, but first I want to ask you a few questions:

Are you going outside yourself for advice?

Running to others for answers to questions about your life?

Seeking guidance from people who will give guidance from their perspective? Waiting for some kind of lighting bolt sign from the Uni-verse?

Making pro and con lists over choices you are faced with?

Attempting to “figure out” something with your logical mind?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, it is time to go IN and get QUIET. The guidance you seek does not come from others. And the volume of your rational mind can be so loud that it drowns out the voice of your intuition. EVERYONE has intuition (yes even you!!).  But our intuition is not pushy like our logical minds are.  It is more of a whisper rather than a loud voice.  And the advice from our intuition often doesn’t make sense. So what!! Sense is so highly overrated and something our ego clings to for a false sense of security and control.

Coming to a country where I’ve never been and had zero connections didn’t make sense at all, but here I am.  So how did I get here? Well last March in my morning meditation, I kept hearing “Australia, Australia, Australia.” I thought it was a bit random but I’ve learned messages from the Uni-verse tend to not make logical sense – that’s what makes them so magical. I did not immediately take action but my antenna was up. Shortly thereafter I got two new clients from Australia and several emails from people in the Sydney area about whether or not I go there to teach…

Hmmm…I thought. What if I am supposed to go there? Then all kinds of other questions came up like: When do I go? How do I plan an event in another country? How will I market it? And all kinds of other “how” questions from my logical mind that only stopped me popped up. Then my intuition nudged me again. “JUST BOOK A TICKET” is what I heard. So I did. I bought a ticket without any clue why exactly I was going. At the very least, I thought I’d have a vacation.

Since booking the ticket, a series of synchronicities and miracles have transpired in terms of the amazing people who have literally dropped into my life to support ALL the logistics, PR and marketing. Incredible new Australian friends who are showing me around showed up. Beautiful places to stay. An upgrade to business class on my flights.  Appearing on the top national morning TV show here. Being invited to speak on the stage of one of the top personal growth speakers here, AND I happen to be going during the best time of year (summer!!).

All because I listened to my intuition.

Are you listening to yours? Are you actually setting time aside to meditate, quiet your mind, and go within so you can actually hear your internal guidance?

If your antennae is up and something inside of you is saying YES YES I want to listen to my intuition more but I don’t know how, here is an easy process to soothe the “I don’t know how” talk from your logical mind to get you started:

  1. Make an intuitive date with yourself. Set aside some time when you turn everything off and go to a place where you will be undisturbed.
  2. Light a candle and set your intention of connecting to your intuition by stating it out loud.
  3. Close your eyes and ask to be cleared from Light from the Highest Source of the Uni-verse. Imagine a column of white light washing over you.
  4. Ask to be surrounded, protected and filled with Light from the Highest Source of the Uni-verse. Imagine being encircled and held in a golden ball of Light.
  5. Sit with your palms facing up so you are in a very receptive position.
  6. Focus on your breathing. Inhale for a count of 5, hold the breath for 5, exhale for a count of 5, hold the exhaled breath for 5 and then repeat 5 times.
  7. Then just get quiet and LISTEN.  Everyone’s intuition speaks in different ways. You may see an image. Hear guidance.  Or feel a sensation.
  8. If your mind comes in because you start thinking about the past, future, or your to-do list, simply acknowledge the thought and come back to your breath.
  9. Stay in this meditation for at least ten minutes.  If connecting with your inner guidance is new, be patient!!! Repeat this process daily and the volume of your intuition will become louder and clearer.
  10. Complete the meditation with asking for support from the Uni-verse. I offer you this prayer: “Uni-verse, please put the next step in front of me in a way I can see, understand and have the courage and willingness to take.”

Get quiet. Go in. ALL the answers and guidance you need is there. Trust your Intuition – it is a beautiful partner to your logical mind.  Who knows, you may just end up in Australia!

With love and blessings,

Christine

Thanks Christine.  I haven’t been sure how to get started with meditation and I like the first steps you have offered.  I’m going to give it a go….

If anyone else has any steps to offer me on “how-to”, I would be very appreciative of the guidance.

My overall best advice is just to DO IT. Set up a regular ritual around it (like when you wake up each morning) and commit to at least 40 days so it becomes a habit.  Your meditation practice will evolve…you’ll create your own “how-to’s” eventually :)

I found doing *Lead Meditations* helped me immensely getting started. I began with Deepak Chopra’s *21 Day Abundance Meditation Challenge* and it has changed my life! They are short meditations, (15 long) so for me, very doable first thing in the morning. I also found that having daily mantras really helps me. There are many, many good meditations you can find on youtube as well, that are helpful in getting started.  I am now on day 72 and can’t wait every morning to do my meditations. It truly has changed my life!!!

I really love to meditate and immerse myself into something that is disconnected to the world. No noise, no stress, no uncertainty etc…

I love TDL because it brings me to blog posts like this one, where I realize I’m not the only one just randomly hearing things in my head. I’m not the only one having things that don’t make sense pop into my thoughts. I’m slowly learning how to recognize when my intuition is speaking to me but for the most part I’ve always just second guessed what I was feeling or “hearing”. I would just brush it aside thinking it was silly to try and put meaning into something that doesn’t make sense. Christine heard “Australia Australia Australia” and she had never been there before and didn’t even have any connections. If I had heard that I would have most likely just said it was completely random or I must have read something somewhere recently about it.

However, lately I’ve been having my own “Australia” moment. Sometime last year, out of nowhere all of a sudden I was being drawn to the Oregon coast. I’ve never been there and I don’t know anyone there. I know people who have visited and I’ve seen pictures, but that’s it. For the last 4 years I’ve done nothing but feel like I’m supposed to be in Seattle…I lived there for 2.5 years while going to school and I fell in love. I had to move back home after I graduated and deep down I always felt like Seattle was the right place for me. Then for some reason last year Oregon kept coming to mind. There are times when I strongly believe I’m supposed to go there for one reason or another. There are times when I even visualize myself there. Then there are times when I believe that I just saw a picture and thought it was beautiful. I always brush my thoughts of Oregon aside because there’s no way I can make it there anytime soon. After reading this blog though I feel a little sad for not trusting my intuition and sad because I think I can’t make it there and I’m just going to miss whatever it is I’m supposed to experience.

I think ever since I started meditating I’ve been hearing my intuition more often…but I was just unclear on what exactly it sounded or felt like. So reading this post today has definitely helped me to realize that sometimes our intuition really is just a quiet voice talking about things that seem random. I can look back on moments in recent months now and realize that my inner guide was trying to tell me something. I hope I can continue to learn how to listen to my intuition more.

    Thank you!!!

Liz – your intuition is incredible and it sounds like you are absolutely listening…the question that comes to mind is, “are you taking action / responding to what you are hearing?” It sounds like you absolutely have the guidance and courage to do so!!  Whether it be Oregon or something else, you have my support and encouragement!

Thank you so much Christine! I think a lot of the times, when it comes to the big stuff…I don’t always take action or respond to what I’m hearing. Unfortunately there’s always a fear of some sort involved…but I’m working on it!

I’ve been searching for a simple starters-guide to meditation for a few weeks now … this is perfect -Thank you!! I’ll print it and start tomorrow morning!

  • bambigail

Ahhhh! Just learned this now and I’m in Mlebourne!

Anyway, thanks for that. I will try to do that next time I meditate. I’ve been doing it for some time now but what I keep on noticing are the thoughts that pop in and out. It doesn’t seem like I’ve been delivered a message by my intuition or if I have, I probably didn’t realize it. Do you have any advice on how I can recognize that?

Such a beautiful example of stepping into the flow, that is where all sorts of people drop out of the sky, isn’t it?!

Love the Pics you posted on Facebook fellow USM sister.  I am really enjoying your blogs too!My intuition doesn’t always make sense, so I can be following it and people around me will be asking all sorts of questions, and I am like ” Look I am just being told to go here” I ask for guidance daily so I am no fool, when it comes I do my very BEST to listen! and usually there is a huge gift of growth! Sometimes pleasant, sometimes painful, but always on route to my evolution. Love and Light

Christine!  Thank you for this wonderful article!! The timing of this was so perfect.  Since December I was thinking about Canada!  Yes…Toronto, Canada (so random and I’m not a big fan of the cold yet something about Canada was calling at me)!!  However, I had a blast in Toronto on New Year’s Eve and was asked by my stepbrother and some friends to consider moving there.  Since the trip, I have been praying about it, and given my new student graduate status (of very little funds), I have been praying a lot.  Miracles have happened along the way this week…. an old friend in San Francisco will be flying there for his usual HQ meeting in Toronto and has offered to cover my ticket with his million miles racked up with his airline carrier  - yes so this is a free flight!  One of my roommates suggested that youth hosteling would be an inexpensive option….I found several hostels downtown at very reasonable prices.  Meanwhile, yesterday, I sent several emails to people via LinkedIn by searching for nurses who work in the Toronto area.  I leveraged my affiliation with my nursing honor society to connect with some individuals.  I thought that I would leverage the time during my visit to see if I could connect with some nursing professionals to get a real sense of what it is like to work there and the likelihood of getting a job.  Out of three emails I sent out, I received a response from one person who is a nursing faculty member of a very good university in Toronto.  The ball is rolling on this!  I learned from you and from this current experience is that when I listen to my intuition and take action, miracles happen.  Thank you for sharing your experience because it reaffirms that my intuition is on point.  I just need to trust and follow it to see where it will lead me.  I am excited to see what will unfold!  Thank you again!
