Be A Boss Without Being Bossy!

Jenna Phillips headshotEvery single one of us has a purpose, and some of us take our mission in life to a level that requires a team of people to support our vision. If you’re reading this, you know that being a leader is a big responsibility. That’s not because of items next to bullet points on a to-do list. This responsibility that I’m talking about is BEING a leading example by walking your talk for your followers and, most importantly, your team of supporters.

I love meeting leaders who are the REAL deal. You know, the leaders who are the same way behind the scenes as they are onstage. The power of love can make us limitless, but the love of power can bring out the worst in anyone.

When you’re a person of influence, it’s your acquired responsibility to utilize your leverage for the higher good.

We all have the capacity to change the world for the better and be loving while we’re at it. It’s possible to be a boss without being bossy. Talking WITH people rather down to them is a far more effective way to communicate. There is a way to give honest and supportive feedback without being demeaning.

We all can create limitless abundance while we pay it forward and give back to our local and global community. To be a leader is to show people what’s possible. To feel like we can’t share our Midas Touch is to be living in scarcity. Abundance is available to all of us and there is more than enough to go around.

The cool thing about abundance is that it shows up in many forms, including opportunities. We can also be the best versions of ourselves while also standing next to another starlet. You don’t have to stand alone in order to be a leader. (Tweet-worthy!) We can all be superstars without stealing the spotlight.

It’s so easy to lose sight of our true essence when we get caught up in the details of where we’re going. In any given moment we can ask ourselves if what we’re doing or how we’re being is supporting our purpose or in alignment with our core values. And when you catch a leader getting caught up in their stuff (because we all do this), be supportive by giving them honest feedback,

How are you going to walk your talk and be a leader today? I wanna hear all about it in the comment section below. Your feedback and written thoughts are always appreciated!

Love all that is you,
Jenna xox

    Jenna,
I’m planning on having a difficult chat with my grandkids this Saturday about disrespectful & selfish behavior directed at me. This is a very uncomfortable realm for me but after reading this I believe a necessary one. I will be using your quote “the power of love is limitless, but the love of power can bring out the worst in anyone,” I almost skipped your essay because I’m retired(no Boss), my job is caring for grandkids. I had that nudge to read it anyway. So glad for your wise words! I could use all the love & light this community could spare sending my way.
