Can you tap yourself into an awesome life?

mk_treesTapping.

Yes. Tapping.

Have you heard of it? I have. I’ve been hearing about tapping for the last couple years, mostly through my “woo woo” friends who also do energy work and other kinds of non-scientific work.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe in the woo woo stuff. But I also have a HIGH BS meter. It wasn’t until I met Nick Ortner that everything changed.

Nick and I are a lot alike. We’re open hearted. We both have a deep desire to change the world, and also both have a high BS meter. Nick is a fellow Hay House author and I met him a little under a year ago in San Jose, CA at a Hay House event.

Nick filled me in on all the science and data of tapping and how it’s helped so many people. Ever the skeptic, I started to KIND of believe him, but still didn’t really believe him.

He told me that his “Tapping Coach” was the best there was. So, I hired her. I wanted to see what it was all about.

Well, tapping changed my life. How? It got down to the root of my fears, it helped me to discover some seriously pain causing core stories about life – and all through a simple process of tapping on the meridian points and saying a few different phrases.

Basically, you just tap on meridian points in the body that send calming signals to the brain, which lowers your stress level. And our brain and body store stress from previous trauma, so the process goes to the depth of our mind/body system.

This past weekend I was with Nick again, we both spoke at the Hay House NYC event. I couldn’t believe what Nick was doing now. He lives in Newtown, CT. That’s right, Newtown.

I heard that Nick was working with some of the parents and children who lost Loved ones in Newtown. They’ve also been working with first responders. I heard that the people they were helping were getting better.

Now, normally I write blogs about “concepts”. But, I was so moved by Nick’s story that I just had to write. Nick is taking tapping and being of service to a whole new level and using it on the ground in Newtown.

Nick and the tapping team even donated $30k out of their own pockets to start up an awesome non-profit that is dedicated to helping heal the Newtown community as well as bringing tapping to the world. Louise Hay even donated $10,000 to the foundation because she believes in it so much.

I was so inspired by Nick and everything he is doing in Newtown. It’s far more powerful than a law or regulation; it’s REAL work on the ground healing those that have been hurt by this tragedy. And LONG after the news crews have left, Nick and his team are still on the ground effecting positive change in Newtown.

If you feel called to help, you can. Nick just wrapped up the 2013 Tapping World Summit. And it’s available to buy for one more day. They are raising another $50,000 to support Newtown, CT and are donating all their sales until they hit $50,000 to the foundation that is doing all this amazing work. If you want to learn more about tapping and help an awesome foundation who is doing amazing work, click here.

There is also an awesome video explaining the amazing work that Nick and his team are doing.

How has tapping changed your life? How has what Nick is doing inspired you to be of service in your community?
I’d Love to know! Leave a comment below and let’s discuss!

I heard of tapping and googled it (thank you Internet). I wanted to get onto it quick smart when I heard about it since I’m doing everything else, the no sugar, the kale smoothie in the am, the kundalini yoga (the list continues) and I found a website with a video clip with a sample (lady with heavy NY accent on it made it even better to watch & do). First time I did it I was like – this is wack, as if it’d be this simple and low and behold tears started streaming down my face like I had stored emotion from where I was tapping. I.balled.my.eyes.out. Thankful that you can do it on the privacy on my own home, this is something that perhaps you cannot measure but it works. I’m not really a facts person, so the results speak for themselves. Now when & if I am out and I experience fear to the point where I am anxious I either say out loud in my car or in my head if I’m experiencing this in public I say ‘even though this anxiety is in my body, I love and accept myself’. Repeat until you feel like you are healing. The hardest part was telling myself that I loved myself, it made me cry in a sobbing way, and I really could not believe that I struggled to say this to myself. I hope my comment helps anyone else who may be reading and want to try it, and cannot believe how it can release a part of you.

Ok, ok, ok.  I may have to look into tapping.  I heard about it vaguely, not sure how long ago.  Then a couple months ago I saw Kris Carr write about it on her blog (or vlog actually).  I almost looked into it then, but didn’t.  I wasn’t QUITE motivated enough.  And now… another sign from the Universe that this is something I should check out.

I’m like you, Mastin, I’m not sure I believe it.  I KNOW lots of awesome people say it works, and I believe THEM (you, Kris Carr).  But it still seems a little…. I don’t know.

But hey, if it’s as powerful as you guys profess it to be, why would I keep ignoring it?
    Thanks!

    Sarah

Sarah–I am right with you! I have been ignoring all the tapping emails and until Mastin and his BS Meter got on-board, I was willing to watch this ship sail. I will check it out also. Wow–just seeing your blog address, right above this comment box, and I was on there the other day. Really great blog and the name of the web address just about covers what I am working to achieve. Thanks for your comment today. Will check out your blog later today! Kindest regards, Lori.

I have the Tapping World Summit – I haven’t been through all the sessions, but prior to a road trip, driving 3000 miles, I did one session, and was relieved of all lower back pain. I did all the driving myself – no pain.  I could not drive at all 2 months ago.  Also, I can bend, clean my bathtub, do things I could not do for the past 12 years.  I’m still on the journey, have cleared things financially, am getting my health back. I’m 57 yrs old, have been extremely weak and ill for the past 7 years, diabetes and liver disease.  I have not felt better in years. alive, and energetic! (I also juice) this journey started in November when I saw Martin, Gabby and ..?  on Oprah – I started pushing in to get my life back.  I’m a work in progress, but my family does not even know me.  the tapping has pushed me over the hump!  I highly recommend it and I am so full of gratitude that Nick is working with the Newtown victims. THAT is huge!    Thanks for all you do!!! Feel the love!!

Is tapping the same as EFT (emotional freedom technique?)

    • michellesears

       Yes.

  • michellesears

Thanks for shedding light on this very powerful technique. You touch a bit on it yesterday with the even though statement. I’m glad you went further into it. Tapping can help you heal. I’ve been tapping on and off for over a year now and it has helped me do many things. For instance, it has helped me overcome sugar and peanut butter (not kidding PB). That stuff will make you overweight if you eat too much of it, I’m telling  you.

Anyways, Nick and the Tapping World Summit is definitely something everyone needs to look into. It works. And it works for lots of different issues. Maybe all issues. I’m not that experienced to say that but I know Nick is.

Mastin thanks for sharing this whole story. It’s very touching and inspirational at the same time.

I feel blessed that my therapist is also EFT certified. This technique has been the rope that has pulled me out of the emotional quicksand that I have been stuck in for years. Childhood trauma will no longer control my adulthood living!

  • Kellydues

I was introduced to tapping in December. After one 2 hour session I can honestly say I continuously feel more joy than I have my whole life. I knew in my head and heart not to take my fears and traumas personally, but did not have the tools to release it cellularly until EFT, Tapping. I am so happy to hear they are in Newtown! Especially for the children. What an amazing gift! Thank you for this great information,

    • Beckythomasconolly

I hear you! I’m actually more joyful than ever in my life also-  as well as getting healthy physically – of course it all ties in together. !!  My kids think I”m a bit looney – but they are now going for it!

Great to see you open your heart and share something, “woo, woo,” Mastin. The cause sounds amazing, and I will definitely add it to my “woo, woo” list, and click your link. I have stories upon stories that have BLOWN my mind. My husband who is a HUGE skeptic and a conservative as well (yes, it is Dharma And Gregg over here in Pismo Beach), can not deny the power of the “woo, woo” (I am loving that term, can you tell?) Anyway, just in case anyone is interested…”NAET”…WORKS! It is drawing on a combo of kinesiology, accupuncture, nutritional management, and chiropractic methods. NAET (Nambudridpad’s Allergy Elimination Technique)  has been around for years and my life has changed because of it. My doctor? Dr Marilyn Chernoff. She has an extensive website (for the skeptics) and I have been waiting for the right time to share her with others on this site. People from all around the US come in to see her, AND I found her just 15 mins North In SLO COUNTY (The Happiest Place In America, according to Oprah). My husband now goes to her as well (And believe me…he is more skeptical than Mastin). So, without reading a thing, I KNOW “Tapping” works because my HEART is telling me so. And, I am all for it. Thanks for sharing Mastin.

Yes you can! I found Tapping videos on You Tube back in 2009 while I was searching for healing mediations and positive affirmations. It is one of the practices I used to heal certain areas of my life.
I am a firm believer in NLP, tapping, and positive affirmations. All three work. Thank you Mastin for posting this. These techniques take the place of outside remedies such as alcohol, meds, seeing a psycholigist and getting nowhere, etc., people use to cover up their issues. I also use sounds to heal such ad AH, OHM, and frequency hz. I am currently listening to 528 hz when I go to bed. I had trouble sleeping and now I have been sleeping like a baby. Anyway… There are quite a few techniques the universe gave us for healing. Natural practices. We just need to educate ourselves. Thank you!!!

LOVE that you wrote about “tapping” today.  I did the 2013 World Tapping Summit and so grateful and thankful to have learned more about  this incredible tool.  It is not a “woo woo” to me.  LOVE Energy Medicine.   Did an up-grade to keep doing the summit work.  I read Louise Hay’s book, You Can Heal Your Life, years ago and re-reading it again along with doing “tapping”.  WONDERFUL combination as it helps me some of the wording I need to do.  View my healing process from childhood traumas as being in re-hab for my “mind-set addiction victimhood”.  I believe addictions appear in many forms.  With all the incredible tools that are available today and all the scientific knowledge that is being learned about the brain and the CONNECTION to vailidate the effects/affects of childhood trauma’s – I WELCOME “tapping” as another tool to use “to get rid of”  what childhood traumas had implanted in my brain.

I have been tapping for 10 years and have cleared a lot of my past. There is a person on Youtube named Robert Smith that has shortened the tapping points and he is the best that I have ever seen.Try it because it works.

  • http://embracingthismoment.com/ Aubrey

A family member kept encouraging me to check it out.  I was very skeptical.  And then I tried it… not just once, but consistently, almost like a morning meditation practice, and I could feel the shift, the mindfulness and the freedom.
Brad Yates has a YouTube channel with an abundance of free video options.  You can also try MeetUp for sessions with certified EFT practitioners at discounted rates.
It is legit.  In our area, it is being used with all of the troops returning from  the Middle East to help with PTSD.

    Mastin,
I am so glad that you shared this today!  I participated in this year’s World Tapping Summit, and I absolutely loved it.  I have already experienced a great response in my own life, and will keep learning and tapping to help me get better.  Thank you for sharing this.

  • http://thejourneytolearnacceptance.blogspot.com/ Nina

Mastin, yet again you have talked about something extremely relevant to me and my journey! I just found out about tapping a couple days before the beginning of the 2013 World Tapping Summit, and I loved it! I didn’t get a chance to listen to all of them, but even so, I got so much out of it. I’m still quite a newbie at it, but I’ve definitely tried it out when I’ve encountered upsetting situations, and it seems to help. I can definitely see how using this as another tool to break through your fears would be so rewarding.

I’m so glad you mentioned it!

    Much love,
    Nina

This really fascinates me because to be honest I’ve tried tapping (same as EFT?) multiple times and found I was just getting really upset and have not seen any results.

    Any advice?

  • Jude

Huge fan of tapping here. Have had huge results from Margaret Lynch’s tapping program. I admire the heart with which Nick and Jessica have put their Summit work out there. Brilliant, wonderful generosity and compassion.

If in doubt try it. It can identify and shift deeply buried limiting beliefs. Yes, it can be upsetting (I prefer to say ‘sad’) to recognise the situations that triggered your beliefs/vows, but a box of tissues works a charm. I firmly believe you can’t get beyond blockages until you identify them.

If in doubt try it. If it doesn’t work, then maybe there’s still a payoff for you to in holding onto the limiting belief and you’re not ready to let it go.

I’m over it. Bring on the clarity! Tapping works.

I have been tapping a few years now and it has changed my life so that Im in the process of  taking some training so I can become an EFT consultant and working with children and young people in schools and also helping as many as I can because its that powerful and transforming
