Embrace Individuality!

It’s a typical studying session for me right now… when I should be diving into my monstrous political science readings, I have turned to watching endless TED Talks. (Nerd Alert!) I can’t help myself! The inspiration is endless!

These videos got my minds racing and thinking about the importance of celebrating our individuality. The brilliant Gary Vaynerchuk once said, “A penguin cannot become a giraffe, so just be the best penguin you can be.” Amen Gary, amen!

We as individuals are filled with unique talents and so much beauty. We have arrived on this planet for a reason and being exactly who you are is the most courageous thing you can do. People will often critique you, but push through this negative noise.

Repeat after me… “You are beautiful.” I truly mean it. Each one of you reading this is radiating beauty. You are adding so much light to this world for just being YOU. Your uniqueness is a beautiful thing.

Don’t dwell on the fact that you feel ‘different’ than others. People who feel the need to take time to call you out are actually the true ones suffering. Words carry power, and trust me I know how bad they can hurt… but go forward motivated to prove to the world what you are made of.

Love yourself for you! Yep, and I mean ALL of you! Your flaws, your strengths, and your weaknesses. These collectively build you up to the person you are today. Embrace your inner weirdness! People are going to talk no matter what you do. You may as well go through your day happy with the person you are than to mask away just to try and ‘fit in.’

As you go through your day radiate love, smile bright and dream big!

“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”
― Coco Chanel
