Give Yourself A Break!

Jenna012313Everyday, we’re on some kind of a mission. Whether it’s to hit our quota, sweat out last night’s decadent wining and dining experience, or tackle the 57 other things we started last week but haven’t completed yet – we always have something to complete.

ALWAYS.

And that’s a beautiful thing. Can you imagine having NOTHING to do? Nothing to accomplish? Nothing to check off your to-do list? I know a blank page in your “to-do” manual may seem desirable when it feels like your “stuff” (emails, calls, texts, social media, errands, responsibilities, and so on…) never stops – and there is soooooo much on your plate – but before you declare your overwhelmed state, stop and think about how blessed you are to be so busy.

Instead of telling The Uni-verse: “I have so much on my plate…” declare to The Uni-verse: “I am creating a bigger plate!”

I relearned the value of this a couple months ago. I had numerous hat orders everyday, and I was shipping them all over the country and even internationally. I was excitedly hustling to the post office to send it off dozens of boxes and the orders kept piling in.

I was so delighted to know that my Self-Love Movement was reaching people in a fun and creative way. My dreams were now my reality and they were all coming together at lightning speed. At the same time, I still had every other avenue of my life to consider.

I was starting to feel like I couldn’t keep up with everything all once, and I said – out loud – to a friend, “I am SO overwhelmed. I can’t do all of this on my own.” Clearly The Uni-verse heard me, because the next day I didn’t sell ONE hat! Not a single order came in.

HA!

That was the first day I hadn’t sold one. I remembered the power of the statement “I AM” so I changed my story and said – out loud – “I am so blessed to have all of the orders that I do, and I’m excited to have more and more, every single day!”

The rest of the week, I sold hats every single day.

Not only that, I also decided to hire a personal assistant. I declared that having the extra support would allow me handle my life in every way. We can move mountains all by ourselves, but we don’t have to. I gave myself a break, but I also continued to tell The Uni-verse that my plate is HUGE, and I want more of whatever it is that is on its way to me.

Remember, The Uni-verse will only give you what you can handle. So, if you have a lot going on – feel good knowing that you are obviously someone who can rise above the choppy waters in the roughest of seas.

A good sailor does not become a legendary captain by sailing on calm, blue oceans. As for receiving support, a captain without a crew is just a lonesome sailor. Asking for assistance in something does not mean you are incapable. It’s working smarter, not harder.

Do you think Steve Jobs brought his vision to fruition all by himself?

Nope.

He had an army of people who were enrolled in his vision, and therefore, his vision was their vision. He had people supporting him every single day. Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto.

If you have “a lot going on” – you’re AWESOME. You’re not incapable to balance it all – otherwise The Uni-verse wouldn’t be dishing it out. If you need support, ask for it.  It takes MORE strength and power to “try and do it” all on your own than to enroll someone into supporting you. Give yourself a break!

Be present to your inner and spoken dialogue. You will get whatever it is that you ask for – good or bad. It may not show up exactly the way you imagined, but it WILL show up. So, be gentle with yourselves, my Daily Lovers.

How do you handle your to-do list, and do you feel the freedom to ask for support when you need it? I’d love to hear about what you have going on right now. Your comments always make my day!

Love all that is you,
Jenna xox

Thank you for this today in my inbox! As I catapult myself into my day after checking in with The Daily Love, this caught my eye and I decided to read it with my morning coffee. Perfect perspective. Even though I know the law of attraction and “think” I practice it, its clear to me now that I’ve been saying out loud “I am so overwhelmed” “I’m running this business myself” (I have a boutique fine art photography business – http://www.lovesomeimages.com)…and, even though I think I’m practicing the law of attraction by my gratitude practice, meditating on getting my “personal power” back from people who I’ve freely given it to with visualizations, etc….I am happy to have this tool today. Thank you! Hey – I am blessed and lucky to have this business and I am fully supported by God & the universe! Awesome!!! xoxoxo Gotta go…the phone is ringing! : )

I love your blogs, Jenna! I love the stories you share… and the one today about not selling a single hat after saying how you couldn’t do it all…. amazing! I LOVE it when the Universe answers us loud and clear like that!

Such a great message, and one I am surely considering in my own life. What have I said to the Universe, either out loud or in my head that is shaping my daily life and reality?

Right now I’m struggling with wanting to do more, but not feeling like I have the resources. Aka, money. I feel a conflict b/t the need to work a “traditional” job to bring in money, vs. doing what my heart is calling me to do – which doesn’t involve getting paid monetarily. I want to give more to animal rescue groups…. but I have very limited funds at the moment, and not much coming in either.

Time to change my reality. I KNOW my life is the way it is right now b/c it’s what I believe and what I’ve created. I know and believe this. The question is, how to change it? I’ve started saying affirmations about having an abundant stream of income. Maybe I just need to relax and not stress about it? Give what I want to give and not worry about running out?

I love your story about selling your “I Am” hats and all the success that’s come your way. It’s awesome! But I can’t help but wish I had some of that success. It’s not jealousy, b/c I am truly happy for you, and everyone who achieves success. It’s that I want to never have to worry about running out of money. I want to have more than enough to do, have, and be whatever I want.

It starts with thoughts (I’m talking myself through this…)

“I HAVE enough money to do, be, and have whatever I want. I HAVE an abundant supply of time AND money.”

    Still working on this….

What a great reframe for times of feeling overwhelmed! “I am creating a bigger plate!” I’m going to remember that one, thanks!
