OMG! Would You Please Do This 3-Minute Meditation!!!

by TommyRosen on July 17, 2011

Have you heard it lately?  The sound of your inner voice, which has your best interests in mind?  Sure, you’ve heard lots of voices inside.  Too many in fact.  It is time to sit still in a quiet place and allow all those other voices to settle like silt to the bottom of a lake so that you can experience your one true voice.  From The Kundalini Yoga perspective, this True voice comes from the neutral mind.  Did you know you have a neutral mind?  It is the part of your mind that is always right, always knows, is super-intuitive and has your best interests as its mission.

Your neutral mind is like a wise judge who openly hears and considers all testimony from your positive and negative minds.  It deliberates very quickly.  If you have a decision to make, as we all do every second of the day, it is best to be connected to the neutral mind.  To develop this relationship with the neutral mind, you first have to be still and quiet, but once you get good at it, you can eventually access neutral mind on the fly.  That’s called “being in the zone”, and sometimes it just happens to us even though we may not know what brought it about.  If you have ever felt it, you’d probably like to know how to get back there and stay there.  Well, here is a simple Kundalini Yoga meditation that will help you develop a relationship with your neutral mind.  If you do it regularly you will find a greater sense of ease, flow and health in your life.

Sound too simple?

Well, there is a catch:  You have to chant, but only internally!  This means you will be chanting inside your head, but not audibly.  Now, most people would prefer to cut off a limb before they start chanting, that is, until they do it and realize it has a profound effect on their life.  So, Three quick words for those of you out there that simply refuse to chant or do something “strange” like this.  OPEN…YOUR…MIND.  Chanting these syllables inside your head will have a calming effect.  It will “break the chatter” and give you a chance to drop into and meet your neutral mind.  IT IS LIKE A VACATION THAT IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO YOU.  It only requires your willingness to begin and do 3 minutes a day.

***Click on the video blog to watch me demonstrate this super easy meditation.***

Sit up tall with your spine straight and a sense of relaxation through your body.  Place your hands in your lap; right hand sits in the palm of your left hand.  Close your eyes and focus them up to your brow point.  Inhale deeply, pause your breath for a few seconds and then exhale.  Okay.  You are ready.  Begin mentally repeating the following 4 distinct syllables:  Wah-Hay-Goo-Roo.  Again, you are not actually saying the words.  Rather, you are repeating them inside your head.  Focus your eyes at the point on your forehead slightly above and between the two eyebrows.  Remember where the eyes go, the energy flows.  You can use a timer setting it to 3 minutes and as this becomes easy for you, you can increase the meditation gradually to 11 minutes.  To end the meditation, take a deep inhale, pause for a few seconds and exhale.  Stay still for a moment feeling the subtle shift this has caused in your body and mind.  Remember this feeling and return to it whenever you need to during the day.  If you feel stressed or confused or have a decision that is tough to make, take 3 moments to do this meditation.  At a minimum, do it every morning when you wake up for 40 days straight.  After that period of time, you will be thinking and feeling better.

I wish this for you.

In Love and Gratitude,

Tommy Rosen

Many thanks for this meditation! I understand that you have instructed me to use this mantra internally but I am wondering if it is alright to say the mantra out loud while practicing the meditation? Thank you.
