Becoming more self-actualized is amazing, but it also takes away your ability to hide behind your magnificence.
Awareness alone can be curative. But once you become more aware, you lose the comfort of excuses to continue living a life of mediocrity.
The great thing about truth is it defies boundaries. Whether it’s served up as Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam or whatever, truth is truth!! And it can’t be divined or owned by any one sect or creed.
The teachings of all the world’s great religions remind us that we are anchored in both the world of practicalities we live in as well as in a spiritual dimension that is mysterious and unquantifiable and is the Source of being that gives rise to all things.
The Lost Gospel of St. Thomas found at Nag Hammadi in 1945 does not tell the story of the life and death of Jesus, but it does offer the reader his “secret teachings” about the divinity which is within each of us. Perhaps that’s why it never made the “final cut”–because if people realized the divinity within themselves they would be less easy to control!
There is a passage in the Lost Gospel of St. Thomas, which is attributed to Jesus that goes, “If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.”
What he is saying is that we all have divinity within ourselves and it is our divine birthright to connect with that divinity and realize our gifts and purpose in order to serve others. But if we hide or deny our unique gifts and deny The Uni-verse the service we could bring, well then things may not work out so well. He is saying show up and give the gift that Source meant you to give and Source will hook you up with everything you need. If you don’t give the gift that Source meant you to give the world, good luck!
I have had spiritual hunger inside of me since the day I was born. It was my divine birthright to follow the path that I am now on and it was why I was created.
But the journey to even get to this point of realization, which in all honesty is just the starting point, has been long and painful. I bought into the world around me according to my family, friends, religion and society and I paid a heavy price for living out of alignment with Source. That was my time of “What you do not bring forth will destroy you.” I lived a life spent “hiding” me. I thought that coping mechanisms would ease the pain but they only delayed the inevitable. And I caused a lot of hurt to myself and others.
That’s why my life’s purpose has become critical. It’s like I am on life support and if I don’t follow my purpose it would be like pulling the plug on my own life support.
And after a lifetime of control, this finally feels like the beginning of freedom. So I am all in!
So where in your life are you hiding behind your magnificence and making excuses in order to hold yourself back from being all you can be?
Can you accept today that it is your divine birthright to realize your gifts and live your purpose so that you can serve others?
Let me know.
Much Love and Welcome Home,
