Run AFTER Your Fears – Not AWAY From Them!

Jenna012313I’m writing to you from 10,000 feet above the Grand Canyon. I’m currently on my way back to Los Angeles after being on an amazing vacation in Miami for a week. It was my first trip to Miami and I’d been asking The Uni-verse for an opportunity to go for a long time. Of course, per the Law of Attraction, an opportunity unexpectedly presented itself to me.

I felt like it couldn’t have come up at a worse time because I was creating a lot of great things that required my physical presence. The saying: “Be careful what you wish for,” was ringing in my ears as I was really considering the pros and cons of going. My considerations went something like this:

“What will all of my dedicated private clients do if I’m not there to motivate them?”
“Who will ship all of my I•AM hats orders while I’m gone? I gotta keep this momentum going!”
“I’ve been building a solid following in my spin classes at Aura Cycle and I don’t want my students to feel like I’ve abandoned them.”

I soon realized that my Ego was making me wrong for requesting a little downtime and doing everything in its power to keep me from it. My fears of my clients falling off the wagon, hat orders declining and empty classes when I returned were all fabrications of my mind and based on NO prior experiences.

When I finally listened to my heart, I heard the following words:

“I’ve been wanting to go and I’ve clearly asked for this trip, so I get to trust that the Uni-verse has my back. My clients love training with me and my students really enjoy my classes. Distance makes the heart grow fonder so they’ll be craving my workouts when I get back! I can have my amazing assistant ship the hats the way I like them to be shipped. It’ll all be fine and I’ll discover the reward in letting go of my control. I haven’t been on a true vacation since May of last year, so it’s perfect for me to go! It’s only ONE week.”

We like to wait for “the right time” to do most things. Said things include starting a new business, getting married, having kids, going on vacation and accomplishing the next mission on our bucket list.

It’s as if we are waiting for something outside of us to create an ideal playing field. The truth is, there never really IS a perfect time to do anything. WE are the creators of our perfect timing. WE are the ones who choose our own reality. Our schedule depends on US.

What if you created the perfect timing for that one thing you fear the most — just because you said so? What if you said, “I know my mind is telling me that I’m not ready, but it’s what my heart wants to do more than ANYTHING! So I’m gonna go for it and I’ll do whatever it takes to make it all come together.”

When we declare our heart’s desires in a powerful way we allow our dreams to sooner or later become our real-life experience.

I’ve never been to Fiji before and I’ve never hosted an international primal movement and Paleo food retreat. I didn’t, however, let that prevent me from creating the I•AM Primal Retreat in Fiji in February of 2014. It was something I’d always wanted to do and I realized that, in order to prepare for something like that, I could create massive urgency in my life by declaring that it was happening.

And so it is. My lifelong dream of creating a healthy lifestyle retreat came to life. When I talk about it with people who want to go, stars shoot out of their eyes. There is nothing inspiring about playing it safe or being small. Your soul wants to get out there and explore! Shark dive, here we come!

What are you committed to creating in your awesome life this week? What are you willing to give up so you can discover something new and exciting? Your life begins on the outside of your comfort zone. Tell me all about it in the comments section below! I love reading about your bliss!

Love all that is you,

Jenna xox

I completely agree with you. I had to get out of my comfort zone to discover what I really wanted. I am always going to what I fear, because as long as I have that fear I will not grow as a person.

Love it. Going for it always feels scary at first but then just like most things in life, we succeed and you’re left wondering why it took so long to finally do it.

Thank you for this. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for 2 years now, but have held on to limiting beliefs like “no one will want to hear what I have to say,” “my writing isn’t good enough” etc., etc. Going to commit to starting it this weekend :-)
