Somewhat Of A Thinker

tlm icon-1By Phoeun You

San Quentin State Prison

––

I am simply quiet and somewhat of a thinker

I wonder at times what people perceive of me

I hear the sounds of the strange environment I’m in

I see many people come and go

I do not want to be forgotten

I am simply quiet and somewhat of a thinker

I try to visualize my life

I feel the pain I have caused

I taste the food on my spoon and wish it was home cooked

I worry about things I can’t control

I cry because I miss the outside world

I am simply quiet and somewhat of a thinker

I understand I did wrong

I say we must learn from our mistakes

I dream of one day being the best I can be

I try because I can’t give up

I hope to one day to lead by example

I am simply quiet and somewhat of a thinker

“…I dream of one day being the best I can be…”
Don’t wait one more day…..you can make that dream a reality…be the best you can be RIGHT NOW! There are no limitations…not even prison walls can hold you back. Take this time of “simply being quiet and somewhat of a thinker” to evaluate the thinker’s voice and what he says to you. Use your situation to compassionately embrace your best self and allow it to come forth. You can make your dream a reality RIGHT NOW!

You have a lot of people supporting you out here bro and best believe I’m one of um! Keep being you without permission and tell Nudo I send mine! Much Love and Respect,

Wonderful poem. Sure wish you could reach out to the violent, hate-filled gang bangers that are terrorizing Oakland and other American cities.
