As fall has breezed upon us ushering in the brisk cooler weather and delicious pumpkin lattes (I’m obsessed), it really got me thinking how the changing of the seasons truly correlate to life.
Life is constant, and we are always moving. From our round, rotating planet, to our daily life cycles, we are all on this journey called life that is a flowing creation like a river running down our planets biggest peaks.
The seasons represent a time of change and ushering in of a new chapter. Just think about it. Walk outside and lay under a tree like I am doing right now while writing this.
What you are witnessing is the world radiating a big message to us as individuals. As the cold wind swoops through the tall tree, it’s beginning to take a toll on the withering leaves that are ready to drop.
To me it represents a much bigger and deeper meaning. I view winter as a time of self-reflection, contemplation, and a time to take in the changes that the seasons and life brings us. Spring is a time of rebirth, and there is nothing better than seeing the first flower spring up from the cold winter’s ground. Spring is full of color and life. Summer is pure bliss. The falling leaves of fall remind us that winter is around the corner, and that life is an endless and beautiful cycle.
We must embrace change as we go through life. It’s an inevitable aspect of life. Change can be scary, but if we never take the risk we are holding ourselves back from an abundance of love and beauty that is ahead of us.
Deepak Chopra once said,
“The trees are our lungs, the rivers our circulation, the air our breath, and the earth our body.”
Think about that for a minute….
Although these leaves have fallen, life goes on and the cycle continues. In a sense, it could be looked at from the angle of death. To me, death shouldn’t be looked at through such a dark mindset; instead we should celebrate the journey we had with this person.
Each one of us will face it in our lifetime, and although these leaves may dwindle away, we will always have the memories to cherish. Just like life’s seasonal change, death is often something we cannot interfere with.
The cycle of life continues just as the cycle of the seasons continue. Through the good and the bad the flow of the river will remain. It’s all connected.
So as we leap into fall, let’s move forward together with a sense of gratitude for the world around us; let’s stop letting the little things knock us down and let’s begin to spread a little bit more love!
Let’s embrace the change that is upon us and use it to help build us up – NOT tear us down. It is through OUR thoughts we control our own destiny.
You matter. Embrace life. Enjoy the seasons.
