As we head down our paths, we will all face times of sadness, pain, and the feeling of defeat. It’s within these moments that simple words carry the power to turn it all around.
As I was scrolling through Twitter, I came across some Tweets by the talented Yoko Ono. She Tweeted, “John used to say ‘I love you’ every day. I didn’t understand how lucky I was.” She followed the Tweet by saying, “We get shy about saying things like I love you. Life is so short. It’s crazy that we hesitate to express our true thoughts to each other.”
These Tweets really got me thinking about the power behind our words. Our time on earth is limited, and what happens tomorrow is a mystery, but within this very moment it’s important to choose our words wisely. Expressing your gratitude to those around you will create an echo effect of love. Let those around you know just how much they mean to you.
So many use words that strike the soul like a dagger to the heart, but it’s within these moments that we must take a step back. When we radiate bad energy, it’s like venom suffocating the love within us. Let that energy go, learn to forgive, learn to listen, and be patient with those around you. When you seek the good in the Uni-verse, it will be delivered right back to you.
You truly never know the battle those around you are facing. Thus, always carry a smile. I remember after my mom was diagnosed with cancer, my sister and I ventured out to shop for shoes to try and take our minds off the current situation. As we were walking the shoe aisles nearly in tears, I realized this important lesson. I looked at each person thinking, “You have no idea what we are going through.” After I wrapped my mind around what I was thinking, I began to ponder,”Yet, I don’t know their story either.” It’s imperative that we GROW through life together, supporting each other every step of the way. Greet others with love, and try and let go of rushing to judgment. We all face our personal battles.
The pain of life is felt by all of us, but it’s when we come together, we rise above and begin to ride the path toward healing. Judge less, love more. This very moment is the only promised breath on earth. Embrace your current storm, and never hesitate to say “I love you.” You have the power within you to begin to transform the lives of others for the better.
Here’s my challenge for you today. Take extra time to let your loved ones know how much you care about them, and to the strangers you encounter, take time to lend a hand. The world needs more love, be the love and pass it on. What good deed have you done today? Comment below!
