As a country so divided, it’s time we become united. Our minds are decided, but it’s time to be reminded – a cultural shift is needed in order for progress to transpire.
To create the visions we dream, it’s time to come together in honor of our future Americans. The world is in desperate need of love. I’ve never witnessed a time when so much anger has been dispersed.
Going forward, we the people should stand up and begin the love revolution. A journey together as people ready to make the future brighter today, where college is accessible, where our planet is respected, where the opportunity to marry the one you love is an option and not a debate. Through the power of love we can transform this country that is sliding down a gloomy path.
With change often comes aggression, but going forward let’s come from a place of love and understanding before we react. It’s crucial as individuals that we begin to drop the judgment of others and love them for their differences. Gender, race, sexual orientation – we should begin to support each other and embrace our diverse America.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you’re willing to try.” ~ President Obama
We as humans are complex and will have disagreements, but we have the opportunity to be grateful as a country to have this possibility, a chance to have a dialogue and to move our country forward. We live in a beautiful country that is blooming with opportunities that often gets overshadowed by the surrounding cloud of anger.
This election ushered in so much change that is a beacon of what lies ahead. Not only did we elect our first gay Senator, an Iraq war veteran who tragically lost her legs during the war, legalized gay marriage in three states, we stood up expressing our unconditional love for our country. Whether you are Democrat or Republican, your passion was ignited and I know our future is bright and together we must remain hopeful.
The love begins with us as individuals. We carry the power within us to mold the future. As you go through each day, ask yourself how you are radiating love. Not only will it make you feel better, it will begin the cycle that will continue onto others. A simple smile to the next person you see will go a long way. You may not SEE it, but they will FEEL it. This burst of happiness within will spark a glow that will help shape this very country.
“Hey you, don’t tell me there’s no hope at all. Together we stand, divided we fall.”
~ Pink Floyd
