This May Cause Miracles!

If you have been reading TDL for any amount of time, you know that I am a pragmatic guy. I don’t believe in the woo woo. Two scientists raised me and I try my best to bring you the most grounded and pragmatic solutions so that you can live an amazing life!

One of my favorite Wayne Dyer quotes is, “I am realistic, I expect miracles.”  I believe that miracles are a natural part of life. And we are taught through the teachings of A Course in Miracles that when miracles are not happening in life, something has gone wrong.

You also know that I hardly EVER endorse anything because not that much impresses me and I want to make sure that you have the best stuff on earth to actually change your life.

And yet – every once in a while something comes around that I just have to tell you about.

What is that? Well – it’s that miracles are natural and miracles should be happening in your life. If they are not, something has gone wrong.

My dear friend and TDL blogger Gabrielle Bernstein has written a fantastic book called May Cause Miracles.  Please check it out and support Gabby – grab a copy of here book by clicking here.

I fell in Love with Gabby when we really got to know each other while we were taping Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday. Since then we’ve been besties. We have a lot in common including a healthy addiction to Kundalini yoga and a desire to shake the planet with Love.

I sat down with Gabby and did a bestie Q&A for your enjoyment and inspiration:

Mastin: So Gabby, what the heck is a miracle anyway? Are the clouds going to part and then angels come down from the sky?

Gabby: A “miracle” is simple: a miracle is a shift in perspective from fear to Love. A miracle can be the moment you choose to forgive your ex-lover and let go of decades of resentment, or the moment you recognize that losing your job was not a tragedy but an opportunity to follow your true calling. Simply put, each moment you choose Love over fear is a miracle. And the more miracles you add up, the less likely you are to perceive life through dark-colored lenses. When you choose to perceive Love over fear, life begins to flow. You feel peaceful and you see Love in all situations. Your hang-ups subside and your life feels guided.

Mastin: What is the number one thing that blocks miracles from happening in people’s lives?

Gabby: Fear is what blocks us from experiencing miracles. I Love the acronym for FEAR – F Everything And Run… Fear makes us play small and blocks our capacity to experience miracles. As you mentioned in your intro, A Course in Miracles teaches, “Miracles are natural. When they do not occur something has gone wrong.” Let’s take that in… What has gone wrong is that we’ve chosen fear over Love and therefore disconnected from our capacity to live a miraculous life.

Mastin: What’s been the biggest miracle that you never saw coming in your life?

Gabby: I’ve experienced many miracles in my life. The most significant miracle was on October 2nd, 2005 when I chose to get sober and follow a spiritual path. My life was a mess, I was addicted to drugs, Love, work, you name it. That day was a miracle because I chose to see things differently. I chose Love instead. That decision changed my life forever and helped me step into my power and live a miraculous life.

Mastin: Do people have to believe in “God” for a miracle to happen? Is it a religious thing?

Gabby: Much like you, everything I teach is totally non-denominational. I teach metaphysics and my primary intention is to help people establish a God of their own understanding. Call it God, call it Uni-verse, call it spirit, call it ~ing (inner guide) or simply call it Love. Get over the semantics and embrace the true gift that is accepting a power greater than you into your life. When you surrender to a higher power, your life will never be the same.

Mastin: Can not getting what you want ever be a miracle?

Gabby: I have experienced many instances throughout my life when things did not work out the way I’d planned. These experiences were great miracles. We must trust that The Uni-verse has a much better plan than we do. When we live with a miracle mindset, we can begin to accept that not everything happens on our time and in the exact way we expected. The miracle isn’t always that things work out the way we planned, the miracle is that we are at peace no matter what happens.

Mastin: Is a miracle something you have to earn by doing good deeds and pleasing God or The Divine?

Gabby: Miracles are our birthright. We don’t need to earn them, we just need to accept them as our truth. The only thing blocking us from living a miraculous life is our disbelief. Our lack of faith karate chops the miracle and disconnects us from our power. The only thing we need to experience a miracle is the willingness to see Love over fear.

Mastin: Can anyone have a miracle or is it only for people who are spiritual?

Gabby: Miracles are for everyone.

Mastin: Whenever we write a book or teach, I believe that we are sent to learn what we are teaching. What has writing May Cause Miracles taught you?

Gabby: While writing May Cause Miracles I took myself through the 40-day course. I always apply the principles that I teach. Writing this book really helped me amp up my own connection to spirit. May Cause Miracles spawned from my own spiritual practice. I begin each day with prayer and meditation. Throughout the day I use affirmations and positive intentions to move through blocks, and each evening I close the day with self-reflection and an inventory of my growth throughout the day. These three steps are offered in each day of this 40-day course.

I believe that simple, consistent shifts in our thinking and actions can lead to the miraculous in all aspects of our daily lives, including our relationships, finances, bodies and self-image. In my new book, May Cause Miracles, I offer an exciting plan for releasing fear and allowing gratitude, forgiveness and Love to flow through us without fail. All of which, ultimately, will lead to breathtaking lives of abundance, acceptance, appreciation and happiness. With May Cause Miracles, readers can expect incredible transformation in 40 powerful days, simply by adding up subtle shifts to create miraculous change.

Mastin: What’s the greatest challenge in your life right now?

Gabby: Today my life is really big. I am so grateful for the worldly gifts I have received and I know that they are a direct reflection of my internal condition. When you live with a miracle mindset, your bucket list becomes your reality. This is awesome. Though at times it can feel overwhelming to accept the responsibilities and fast-paced life. Today I work very hard to balance my work life with my personal life while always putting my spiritual practice first. This can be challenging but it truly helps me stay committed to my path and my purpose. There’s no room for playing small when you commit your life to miracles.

Mastin: What is Kundalini yoga and why do you Love it so much? It is at all related to Linguini Alfredo?

Gabby: What Kundalini and Linguini have in common is that they’re both AWESOME! Kundalini yoga and meditation has changed my life. I’m almost done with my Kundalini teacher training and I feel so blessed to share this technology with the world. My dear friend Shauna explained Kundalini like this, “If you want to manifest your desires, do yoga. If you really want sh*t to happen fast, do Kundalini yoga.” Kundalini yoga busts through your blocks FAST and helps you create radical change in your life. I wish the Kundalini practice upon every being in the world and I’m so psyched to share the gifts I’ve learned.

Mastin: If someone never read your book and just read this Q&A, what would you want them to know most?

Gabby: The payoff for sticking to the principles of May Cause Miracles is that the more you choose forgiveness, gratitude and Love, the more miracles you experience.

My dedication to living this way has changed every area of my life. I’ve let go of addictions to romance, drugs, work, food—you name it. I’ve learned to choose forgiveness whenever resentment creeps into my mind. Fear of financial insecurity has lifted and my internal abundance, my zest for living a Love-guided life, is reflected in external abundance. Today I see obstacles as opportunities and know that The Uni-verse has my back. Most important, I feel a sense of certainty that there is a power greater than myself supporting my every move.

Mastin: What do you know for sure?

Gabby: What I know for sure is that there is a powerful presence far greater than me supporting my every move. And the same goes for all of you! Expect miracles.

As always, the action happens in the comments below. Leave a comment and join the conversation! The TDL Community thrives in the comments and it’s a GREAT place to get support!

Love,

Mastin

What a great interview…I just bought it! Yay. I read the Amazon reviews for this book a few days ago, it totally resonated with me & was pitched at the right language for the reader. I’m right with you in this one, what a great community, what a great way to make positive changes in the world & firstly & importantly beginning with yourself. Can’t wait to read, & Mastin I’m so glad not much impresses you, nothing worse than yet ANOTHER sales push in this world, it’s so desperate. I would definitely trust what you endorse. Yay all round and just got my FREE gift…going with the loving kindness meditation to start off with. The world us definitely changing in a positive way as more & more ppl are making these shifts :-)

Gabrielle is a spiritual rock star. I discovered her guided meditations at a low point in my life and since then my life has done a U-turn. The decision to be happy is in your perception on things and how you view your reality. I’m so grateful for the teachings of Spirit Junkie and I can’t wait for May Cause Miracles to arrive in Dublin :)

    Thank you Gabby x

    Mastin and Gabby!

Thanks for the interview! I have been reading Marianne Williamson’s The Law of Divine Compensation – and I feel like you all are striking a nerve for me!

There is this weird battle I have myself with feeling like I can play a big game – but then continually feeling like I am small. My only solution to taking this on has been to keep putting myself out there – challenging myself to play BIG – even when playing small.

So, I just booked a LIVE event – as well as being committed every day to listen and blog. My ego may want me to stay small – but my purpose is calling me forth!

    Thanks again for the love!

Love this! I am on Day #3 of “May Cause Miracles” and I experienced some of my own miracles in the last 24 hours. I am looking forward to continuing on the journey! Gabrielle, thank you for sharing your story and inspiring so many of us! I will be forever grateful.

Thank you both for this. What a clear explanation you’ve given us. And, just wanting to echo that miracles are for everybody – you don’t have to be spiritual or woo-woo to have one. You are entitled to miracles!

Can not thank you enough for the print of this article……as a writer, when I read the line that when you write you live what your writing, I had a physical emotional body response as how true this is and it summed up in one line what I had been experiencing. I am intrigued enough to buy this book and invest 40 days to learn how to turn fear into love …ps excited to start your class Monday as well!!

  • Liza Lake

    Wow! Loved it!!

  • michellesears

What a great Q&A. I learned lots and I already bought the book and I’m starting my 40 day transformation on Sunday. So excited.

Totally Believe in choosing or making decisions in life from point of love than fear. Would like to read this book soon. :)

Great interview, but I wonder if labeling something as “wrong” is necessary (“…when miracles are not happening in life, something has gone wrong.”).  There are no “right” or “wrong” paths because everything is a learning opportunity.  Maybe it is that we are not centered in our hearts, or that our lives are not congruent with our soul’s path at that particular moment–but aren’t all things conducive in some way to our soul’s growth if we allow them to be?  Aren’t all “wrong” paths just opportunities for soul growth?  And what is “wrong” for one person might be fine for another.  Maybe “wrong” is another word for being disconnected or contracted from life but again, aren’t those incredible growth opportunities when you have a chance to step away from them?  And, in that perspective, is that really a “wrong” path then, or the right one for us?  Everything works out in the end if we trust and allow…

WOW. I know I am experiencing a miracle right now….just got trust, Love.

Like Jackie I’m on Day #3 of May Cause Miracles” and the miracles have already started. The best example: Today, my car broke down on the way to work. Not only did I pull into an auto repair shop quite by accident, I was able to get a ride to work, show up on time AND release my fear regarding how to pay for this and instead have accepted it as a call to play much bigger with my music.  Thank you Gabby!!!!!!!

  • Perfectlypure1

That was amazing and I did by the book and attended the webinar (if that is what you call it). I’m not quite sure what to expect. I’ve been foloowing for a little via the Daily Love and that is how I got to know Gabby in the first place. I was still on the fence even after watching a couple of interviews with Maria. But after getting more perspective and background today through the interview with Mastin I enjoyed the authenticity. I also been practicing the kundalini breathing technique “ego eradicator” from gabby’s vlog a month or so ago and just did it this morning and questioned is this working. I ‘ve been looking for confirmation all day. A word from the Uni Verse/ God that am I on the right track. Things can be hectic and a struggle and when you have the best intentions and they are not acknowledged you sometimes feel like throwing in the towel but then came my ah ha moment and that was Shauna. See that is my name exactly. I skipped that part but went back like let me just read it all and there it was confirming (even though I know this) that giving up is not an option. I’m excited for both of you and for myself for all the good stuff you all putting out there. Happy Happy Happy!!!!! My the best be with you always. XO SHAUNA

Wow. Living in a mostly small, conservative, and traditional Christian area (SLO COUNTY), I stirred up quite a bit of controversy when I decided to post  part of Mastin and Gabby’s conversation  (calling God…a higher power, higher self, and etc). Whew…not easy Living Love. And, so worth it.

yes, stirred, i’d say….  but, so graciously you showed, in love, you don’t have to be “right” in the eyes of others, just to you and LOVE!  Love provides respect for all.

I loved Gabby’s response to Mastin’s “do people have to believe in God…”  about people getting lost in the semantics.

Thanks daily reader! I definitely breathed through that one. Gotta be the change, if I want to see the change. And, that means…standing tall with two feet solid on the ground (even when people are throwing daggers).

  • jill3

I am grateful for your site and sharing of wisdom.  In a place of shadows and depletion I was guided by an ember of detectable spirit into the embrace of aKundalini Yoga Community initiated by a 40 day challenge of practice, and am now living in true spirit leading with love into the light.  Sat Nam.

  • Rosi Theart

I found you. I believe that this is from God because I did not think that something or someone such as you and your web page exist. Not in this day and age. Thank you for having the courage to step out and say what you believe in and for this opportunity.

  • Margieburch123

Mastin….even though I realize you are not reading this during your break…the book break…
I still feel compled to say…..”I love you”. I am 76 years old and as I read your daily news
I feel so blessed to be reading about the human condition….pleas keep going…you are
helping “all” humans to rise above the conciousness of our parents…..maggie burch
