This One’s For The Ladies!

Jenna012313If you’re a successful woman on a mission to leave a legacy behind you, your eyes are reading the perfect blog for you. If you’re a budding leader and you’re clear about your purpose on this planet, you know what it means to have goals and a vision. And if you’re a woman in the year 2013, you’re familiar with the dance of masculine and feminine energy that we’re always wanting to master.

As passionate and powerful women, we’re committed to reaching our goals and fulfilling our dreams. Sometimes we don’t know which is the next step to take, and we get caught up in the back and forth between our intuition (feminine) and our analytical thinking (masculine).

Both guides can serve us, but how does a woman on a mission know when to flow or GO GO GO?

When I began my business at the age of 24, I had a firm belief that the only way to get ahead and be successful was to be a non-stop hustler. So for about 5 years after creating I’m On A Mission, I ate, drank, breathed, slept and supercharged my business. It was what mattered the most to me and I put my business before everything, including all kinds of relationships.

If a guy I dated didn’t like how often my phone received emails, texts, calls, or any kind of notifications, it wasn’t long before I’d moved on. I was “reachable” on my phone in every waking hour so I wouldn’t miss a damn thing.

I chose to not make time for hometown family reunions and I even missed out on some out of town weddings because I feared that it would interrupt the momentum I’d built for my company, clients, following and my own personal fitness goals.

If I couldn’t be in CONTROL of every detail on out of town holiday excursions (type of food available, workout opportunities, or access to WiFi) I’d undoubtedly be less than excited to partake. I was so attached to my goals, and how it all looked, that I missed out the beauty of letting go, being in the flow, and experiencing the present moment.

Was I able to consistently connect with my followers and keep them up to date with the healthy food I was eating or the beautiful mountains I was hiking? You betcha.

Was I able to successfully upload my YouTube videos on a daily basis, blog weekly, and tweet my thoughts as they came to me? Yep. With flying colors.

Was I able to create workout opportunities no matter where I was and still be in contact with my dedicated clients to make sure they were staying on top of their fitness goals and healthy eating? Absolutely!

Was I able to do ALL of the above AND be present with my family, friends, and boyfriend? Yes! However, at the time, I didn’t see it possible to “have it all.” It wasn’t until I released control (the masculine energy I’d been harboring) and asked for support (a very feminine thing to do) that I finally saw the power of my BEING.

The Uni-verse blessed me with an assistant who was equally passionate about making this world a healthier place and she also believed wholeheartedly in my mission. Choosing to receive support from her allowed me to spend less time on DOING and more time BEING present. This allowed me to be reconnected to WHY I began my mission in the first place.

I was so insistent on being INDEPENDENT, but I had it all backwards. Hustling like crazy in order to connect with the world in a way that would make me successful, which would then give me freedom and independence was depriving me of my feminine grace.

Asking for support so I could make time for myself, my favorite people, and out of town missions whenever I felt like it was the most empowering thing I could have ever done. Letting go and being in the flow is good for our health, our relationships, and (believe it or not) our level of financial abundance.

I now have a loving relationship with an amazing man and I’ve never been closer to my family and friends. My business is thriving and I’m grateful beyond measure.

I’ve discovered the benefits of knowing when to activate my masculine and when to be in my feminine. When we have a to-do list to handle, we definitely get to use a dose of our masculine. Being in our feminine grace is a beautiful thing and it creates divine serenity within.

When we’re at peace with ourselves, anything is possible, and we CAN have it all. Can you think of something in your life that could be even MORE amazing if you received support? Think BIG, and I wanna hear all about it in the comments section below!

Love all that is you,

    Hi Jenna,

Thank you for sharing your experience and this post. I wrote a mission statement for life four years ago which included building monuments to compassion around the world. This past May, through the collaboration and support of others, the vision became reality. The first monument to compassion was inaugurated at the end of May this year in Davis, California. Inspired to build their own, the second one was built in India by a youth group who believes in compassion.

I am currently building support in collaboration with others to recruit people to be Compassion Ambassadors, aka Compassioneers.

I agree with you–when you open up to all aspects of oneself, both masculine and feminine, the Universe supports you at every turn.

    With compassion,
    David H. Breaux

Hey Jenna! I love your blogs and I feel as though they’re speaking directly TO me whenever I read them!! Thank you for today’s reminder to be ‘present’. I’m currently juggling a double life and struggling with how to connect them more. 1 life is amazing and beautiful and it contains my husband, my home and my work. My other life is my spiritual one and it contains my spiritual group and my connection to nature. When life #1 starts to stretch me too thin, life #2 suffers…and vice versa. My biggest goal at the moment is to not force my husband to be on my path, but to have my path somehow exist within my husband’s world…. Any how, I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know! Thank you again!
