A friend turned me on to your site and it is amazing. You and I seem to have many similarities and what you are going through now, mirrors my current situation.
I struggled with drug and alcohol addictions for many years and throughout my life have always wanted to find the secrets to success to happiness and success (meaning making a difference). I’ve read all the self-help books (Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, etc.) and bought many of the tapes throughout the years.
I also have studied nutrition and over six months ago decided to eliminate the sugar and exercising daily. I knew that sugar was toxic, and I always felt awful after consuming sweets. After a short while I felt incredible, like I discovered the fountain of youth (I am 43 yrs old).. You see, since I left the drugs behind I made the decision to return to my dream to become a doctor (a healer really since I am a huge believer in alternative medicine). I’m back in school and it is a miracle, since I shouldn’t be alive today. I plan on writing my memoirs at some point because where I came from, what I’ve been through and where I am headed can be a source of inspiration.
Well, anyway, I have had my struggles with sugar, exercise (or lack thereof), and a few extra pounds recently. I have been an all or nothing type of person most of my life and have now learned to not beat myself up. We are not perfect and will never be. Life is a process and we can only do our best. Anyway, I felt compelled to write to you because I feel as though we are kindred spirits. When I receive your morning email and read the quotes you post and what you are going through daily, it truly amazes me that it mirrors my life.
Anyway, I hope to talk one day and share our stories. Thank you for your wonderful example.
