You Don’t Know As Much As You Think You Do! LOL!

by Mastin Kipp on February 16, 2012

Sometimes what we call tragedy, a mess or a big mistake is an opportunity staring us right in the face.

You see, we see the world through our own mind – which is simply one perspective of the whole. Because of this, we can only see a small part of the bigger picture. When we realize that we are only seeing a small part of the bigger picture, we must pause to ask and see if our view is actually correct. So many people walk around daily believing that the way that THEY see things is HOW it is, INSTEAD of understanding that THEY are how they see the world.

It’s pure arrogance to think that the world is just how you see it. Imagine if that were true. The world would still be flat, there would be zero innovation in civil rights or technology and there would be no progress. This is why it is SO vital to be able to keep an open mind about what’s possible and about what is actually going on.

In Japanese, the symbol for crisis is made up of two symbols, one means danger and the other one means opportunity. There is SUCH wisdom there.

So if we can take a moment and pause and realize that we do not have all the information to assume how life is, but rather, we have a limited perspective and can only see a fraction of what’s really going on, then we make ourselves available to transformation, progress and change. To think that things will always be how they’ve been is BS. If you look at the innovation of technology alone over the past decade, devices that we take for granted today like iPads and iPhones DIDN’T EVEN EXIST!

We must upgrade our internal system at least as often. How many of us have a story or a meaning that we gave the past that has been around even longer than 10 years. We need an inner innovation. We need a recalibration to reveal that perhaps it’s time for an upgrade in thinking, which will lead to an upgrade in action, which will lead to an upgrade in life in general.

Imagine, giving up the need to be right, to be in charge or to feel like you “know” everything. What would that be like? How would your ego take that? AND – what new possibilities would there be in your life?

Can you step outside your current way of thinking and see that there is a bigger picture and then surrender your whole life to the Will of The Uni-verse, who sees and orchestrates it all? Let me know: WhatImGoingThru@TheDailyLove.com or leave a comment!

Thanks Mastin.  I read your blog because it reminds me of the truth every day.  Its so easy to believe the stories the voice in my head weaves.  I do believe there is a higher power guiding us (mine is Jesus Christ) and I would love a deeper relationship with that power.

I started your Love Uni-Versity yesterday night and it felt invigorating.  I just need to help myself through this right now.  My goal is acceptance of the past and peace and joy in the present as I am right now.  Shifting my vision to actually love my life (and there is much to be loved).

Great post M! It has a little to do with what you wrote about regarding dealing with uncertainty right? I love that your blogs summarize what it could take sometimes a whole book to absorb the wisdom from it…u break it down into bite sized pieces for us lazy folk (haha) and everyday there is progress in my life. I’ve just about finished a 6 week detox my TCM put me on so I already feel transformed in body, I just need my mind to catch up! I’m open to new possibilities and your post is definitely helping to guide me gently xx

So nice to have a fellow traveler out there keeping us on our path!!  I enjoy reading your stuff every day!!  Love this one.  Going through some big life changes and it’s good to be reminded that everyone has their own perspective, keep an open mind, drop the judgement and let it flow.
    You rock!!
    Love you!

I am 44 years old & have hit a low in my life of realizing I am my worst enemy.  I stumbled across your site yesterday & am absolutely loving it.  I love the daily visualizations & affirmations.  I have lacked love for myself my entire life & have been stuck in my past.  I have recently lost the love of my life because of it & know now that if I don’t change my internal dialogue & how I view things…NOTHING will change for me!  Struggle daily with holding out hope for us when I get myself together….I know now more than ever that until I love myself..nobody else can!  Thank you for your site…it helps me feel there is definitely hope for a better life for me :)

    Hi Mastin,
Great post! you know what I find interesting … when I go to the thought of letting go, of needing to be in control of what I’m doing, and wanting to know what I “think” need to know – has to do with the feeling of uncertainty growing in abundance! and certainty disappearing (I just made myself laugh … had to write what I first thought though, helps me see how I really feel) thanks!
    have a great day!
