When I was a little girl I would raid my mom’s closet for her goddess-like skirts and dresses. I would step into her clothes and be swimming in them, but I felt pretty and all grown up. I would dance around and imagine I was a ballerina prancing around on a stage in Paris, or a princess locked in the dungeon of a castle waiting for my Prince Charming to rescue me.
My day dreams were very real for me and I believed that I was a tiny dancer and a graceful lady in waiting. For a while I would live, act, breathe, eat, and sleep like I was exactly who I believed myself to be. In all ways of my being, I was magical. Possible. Beautiful. Magnetic.
At some point, I allowed external sources to tell me I was NOT a ballerina OR a princess, and I believed them. I stopped exploring far off lands in my expanded imagination and my metaphorical point shoes started to collect dust. I limited my beliefs to only “what’s in front of me” instead of “what’s possible for me.”
It wasn’t until I woke up from a coma with brain damage many years later that I understood the power of declaration. The doctors said I wouldn’t be able to graduate from high school on time and I said, “WATCH ME DO IT!” So I DID graduate on time. Like a BOSS!
Fast forward to my more recent years. I started my company in 2007 with a vision of motivating and inspiring millions of people to take ownership of their health, relationships, and lives. I’ve trained hundreds, if not thousands, of people in my fitness classes and private sessions and have reached countless people all over the globe with my YouTube videos and blogs. I’ve shipped my I’m On A Mission/I*AM hats to people in different towns, states, and countries to expand my Love and Intention Movement.
Why has this all been possible for me?
Because I imagined it all, and I said I would do it. Even after all of these awesome experiences and opportunities – I still battle my Ego from time to time. My Ego likes to compare my authentic Self to other amazing people in my field, and say that they are better, more experienced, or more qualified than I am. My Ego loves to tell me I’m not ready to explore far off lands of what else is possible for my clothing line, or that no one will read the book I started writing – so why even finish it? My Ego tells me what is NOT possible, just like the people who told me I wasn’t royalty on point shoes.
BUZZ KILL!!!
I battle my Ego just like you. Why? Because the Ego will always be a part of us. It’ll never go away. What’s AWESOME is that we get to stand up for ourselves so we don’t get bullied anymore! When we start to entertain negative Self-talk, we get to say, to our bully of an Ego, “hey, thanks for sharing, but I’m clearly not caring. So, byyyyyyye!!!”
We ARE more powerful than our Ego, and – HECK – we ARE more powerful than anything in the Uni-verse. If you’re gonna make up a story about something, make up a story that FEELS good; not a story that feels icky. When we dream, it’s our Higher Self”s way of telling us something. Do not discount or ignore your dreams.
I recently had a dream that I was on a white stage in front of a big, outdoor auditorium. Everything was white, except for the drum set and DJ stand covered in blue glitter, located stage right. Then Justin Bieber walked onstage and asked me what I was doing. I said, “I’m getting ready for them.” He asked, “Well, where IS everyone?” I replied, “I don’t know, but everyone is on their way!”
He acknowledged my mission and vision and said he had to leave to make it to his own concert in time. Then my alarm woke me up. Two hours later, a friend called me to tell me she had a crazy dream about me. “You were onstage and speaking to thousands of people. You were doing demonstrations from different stages in your life and they were all mesmerized by what you were saying to them. Music was playing and you had all these awesome costumes. It was magical! The Uni-verse wanted me to tell you about my dream, so I AM!”
I was silent for only a moment before I said, “You had the second half of my dream last night!!!”
Yes, that’s amazing – but what’s even MORE amazing is that I discovered WHY Justin Bieber was in my dream. A couple weeks later, I was looking for seagull tattoo ideas online because I’m obsessed with the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I’ve, at times in my life, been a reluctant superhero just like Jonathan Livingston Seagull – only because of my limiting beliefs – but we are both powerful beyond measure. In my search I came across a picture of one of Justin Bieber’s tattoos – a seagull!
With the picture was an article explaining why he’d chosen that for a tattoo. I’m paraphrasing, but he said, “My favorite book is Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I’m a powerful seagull, just like he is.”
I couldn’t, and wouldn’t, make this up. What I took from that realization is that I*AM just as powerful as Justin Bieber, and I can influence the world just like he has – with LOVE and INTENTION!
Your dreams are real, and everything you imagine is TOTALLY possible. The only thing that will stop you is a tiny, limiting belief. When are you going to make your dreams come true? What words will you choose to make your desires come to fruition? Tell me all about your dreams in the comments section below! I love hearing from my readers!
Love all that is you,
